britney airbrushing pics

first of all.. check out the pics i'm posting below.

then, let's discuss.

seriously.

she looks freaking amazing in her un-airbrushed picture, does she not (and just for the record in case you are male, or idiotic, it's the one on the left)?!?! and the more i look at the 2 pics side by side, the more absolutely unrealistic her entire body looks in the airbrushed picture. but this is the shit we sell. this is the shit we love to look at. this idea of "perfection".. that doesn't freaking exist! it isn't freaking real!!!!!

the saddest part? i guarantee that if candy's had used the unairbrushed version of britney's picture, douchebags like perez hilton and other assholes would be circling her "cellulite" and her "imperfections" and making fun of them... as if they don't have imperfections themselves. as if they could ever look that good naturally.

i'm convinced it will never end. ever.

it's a sickness and we, as a society, perpetuate every ounce of it.

i for one, think britney's un-airbrushed body is fucking amazing and i wish i looked that good. i'd take her body any day of the week. it's too bad the rest of us wouldn't.

Totally agree with you! These poor teenage girls have such malleable minds and look to these magazines as the truth. It goes all the way back to Barbie! I, unfortunately, agree it will never change.

The Dove site has a video called Evolution. Same thing. It's a hard thing to get past, to accept your body they way it is, rather than we think it should be. Do you suppose that it was like this 100 years ago? Like, 'look at her ankles! They're so tiny! I want those!'?

can I just put this out there: Perez is so annoying!

It really is a chicken or the egg scenario. Most people (including men) think models are just too damn skinny, and that all the airbrushing is stupid. Everybody, except the idiots (as you mentioned) like Perez Hilton and even People Magazine. But these people have a voice as long as people continue to read the crap they spew.

So we could end this cycle if we could get them to shut up, be we can only get them to shut up if people stop buying their crap and making them an "authority" on "what people want to see" (when they really don't)

it is such a larger problem, truly. for girls who look at pictures of these women airbrushed like that.. barbie as well. don't get me wrong, i enjoy seeing a beautiful woman and a sexy, hot woman as much as the rest of us- but i don't appreciate the completely unrealistic airbrushing to create an image that is false. i am happy that people are starting to show the PRE airbrushed picture. we SHOULD be able to see it. we should see what they do and how they alter images. i think it's good for us to see both versions of the picture.

i think the problem i have MOSTLY, BOTTOM LINE is that these magazines, these advertisements, etc.. they are showing these images and portraying them as TRUTH. you would assume that britney just looks that damn good, had airbrushing and the like never been brought to the public's attention, you know?! we would have assumed she looked like that. she photographed like that- and that her ass and legs looked like that.

i think that is what pisses me off the most. we're supposed to believe those images are REAL. and we're supposed to believe that you have to look like that, to be considered beautiful. AND THE WHOLE IMAGE IS FALSE!

lol @ the ankles comment. i don't know. i think 100 years ago, the more shapely you were, the more beautiful you were considered. i don't know when this changed.. maybe it was gradual and evolved slowly. fuck, i never get down to someone's ankles. lol

katie- i freaking HATE perez. he is a waste of space and a WRETCHED person. i have seen first hand how he affects people's lives without batting a false eyelash. he never has anything nice to say about anyone.. he has made MILLIONS of dollars off being mean, malicious, hurtful and negative.

why do we give someone like that so much attention, praise, and publicity? i for one, stopped reading him and haven't read him since i made a vow to stop supporting his negative and horrid ways. i wish more people would do the same.

i know we have a fascination with people who are celebrities and i totally get and understand that. but there is a respectful way to go about getting information, etc. perez and tmz are by far the worst. everything about what they do is unethical and crosses the line.

I totally agree. You have all said it very well! It's really frustrating for people with any sort of body image issue!

you and me both. i'd give a pinky to look as good as her and i'd flaunt my shit all over the beach with that body. who cares about the little bit of cellulite. she's thin and so pretty. the touched up version is ridic and her legs look TOO thin

It affects guys, too. I have a 'friend' who comes around once in awhile, and we've been doing this for many years now, but the time that sticks out was when he was trying to lose weight. He was too skinny!! Like, too too skinny!! I told him at the time, but he didn't see it. I told him recently that I thought he looked good now, but he said something about losing weight again. I told him he was sexy now, that a little bit of meat on the bone is a good thing. He seemed surprised. I guess I never thought about it affecting men, too.

No kidding! I'd kill for her body!

Believe it or not, this is the first time I've seen a pre and post airbrushing picture. INSANE! 16 months post-partum and I'm beating the shit out of myself desperately hoping that I can learn to accept myself so as to provide a good example for my daughter.

The air brushing makes me sick. Did you know they actually make women's legs LONGER among other things? Ugh!

She looks like a woman who's had a couple of kids and takes care of herself. They should just leave it at that. The airbrushing is what makes women feel so damn self-conscious when we're wearing a bra and panties at the beach for all the world to see.
