day 1 of unemployment

i didn't have to rush to get to work this morning and do everything i normally have to do for blake. between getting him to actually eat breakfast, brush his teeth, put on his damn shoes and me trying to get ready for work and out the door... it's normally chaos in the morning.

but this morning? this morning, i took my time. because i didn't have anywhere i needed to be.

i made him breakfast. like cooked him something. which i never do because we don't have time. (which clearly means we don't wake up early enough, but i don't wanna hear it). and then when he came downstairs, i sat with him and ate with him. which is also something we never do on the weekday mornings.

it was nice.

until i started looking around at the house and all the plug socket things that have been uncovered for the last 2 years and i started counting. and then i was annoyed that i couldn't replace them myself, cause if i could, i would just totally do that. but anyway, i looked around the kitchen and the game room and i got to 18.

18 plug things that STILL need to be replaced!

and then blake said, "you need a job. this is going to get annoying."

and so it begins...

I always wonder...dream maybe event about the things I would do if I became unemployed.

Then I realize as much as I want it. I don't want it.

Makes sense right ?

P.S. my son is Blake too ;)

What are plug socket things? Cuz if they are what I am thinking they are, you can totally do that...

I 'helped' someone switch out my sockets because his way of helping me was to just do it himself. In the end, it wasn't that difficult and had I actually done a couple myself I would be able to do it today.

You can totally do it yourself.

I am wishing you oodles of luck Jennster. You are too amazing for some lucky employer not to snap you up in a hot second.

Until then, enjoy doing all those stupid things you never got to do when you were working. Even the light socket stuff.

I've been gone for way too long and missed so much!

You should totally come spend some unemployment time in Oklahoma. It sucks here, but we could have some fun! How's that for a travel brochure?
