i want to win the lottery!

i'm just putting this out there.. because not only do i really WANT TO WIN THE LOTTERY!!!! i'm actually PLAYING!!! *note to the california lottery gods & goddesses, this means i'm serious*

usually i just say how it would be fun to win the lottery and how i want to win it, but i never actually play it.

oh this time i'm serious. this time i've actually bought tickets! more than one. fear me lottery players. *note #2 to the california lottery gods & goddesses.. a little help here, thanks*

I WANT TO WIN!!!! :)

it's true though. lately i've been daydreaming about winning the lottery. a.lot. and not even ridiculous amounts of money... just like 5 million. what? you think that's a lot of money? well, i don't know about you, but i could blow through 5 mil in no time (think properties). i've been thinking about how nice it would be to have that kind of financial freedom. ridding yourself of your immediate financial burdons. just thinking about not having that kind of stress almost brings me immediate relief. my shoulders relax. everything in my body relaxes. just the idea is overwhelmingly blissful.

i think about paying off the ugly house, and then buying another one in southern california. and how i really, really want to pay off my friends and families homes so they can also be free from the burdon of their mortgage (are we seeing a trend here? i am guessing, but it's only a guess here, that i feel burdoned and stressed out by my house). my mom could actually retire if that house was paid off! i would love to do that for her! could you imagine the happiness and freedom you could give the people you cared about if you had the money to do it? i think that would be the best part. i can think of 3 friends right off the top of my head that i'd help pay off their homes and they could stay home with their kids and not work. they work because they "have" too.. not because they want too.

and you know what? when i think about the people who HAVE and actually DO win the lottery... i feel such happiness and excitement for them! i read their stories about buying their first home, or how much the money will help their life, and it just makes me smile. i mean, everyone could use extra money. right? i just think it's awesome.

have you ever won the lottery? do you play religiously? do you know anyone who has won big? what would you buy?

daydreaming about what you'd do with money you don't have is FUN, right? ha

hey! I'm gonna buy a ticket too!!

The problem is...I sometimes buy tickets and then forget to check them. I probably won once. But was too busy at the Nordstrom anniversary sale wishing I could just win the damn lottery!

Well not checking them is better than throwing winners away... I used to work for a lottery ticket centre at a mall and one of our "jobs" was to go through all the tickets tossed into our garbages - each week we would pull out an average of $350 - $400 worth of WINNERS that people mistakenly tossed out... the five of us who worked there (and took the time to do that boring chore) split the money for a "bonus". Crazy.

I don't really play the lottery, but if I ever did win- I'd buy an apartment in paris, a leer jet, and a house in San Francisco (or in sausalito, actually) and I'd start my own photo studio and magazine. :)

Why yes, yes it is fun. I've never played, but if I did and happen to win the first thing I'd do is get knocked up!

Well, and quit my job.

I hope I'm one of those friends whose mortgage you'd pay off. :)

If I won, I would totally quit my job right this very minute. I mean, teaching is nice and all, but if I didn't need the money, I'd be out of there! :)

The whole fun of buying the ticket is buying the dream...hours of entertainment for $1 is quite a bargain.

Would I quit my job? Bwaaaaahaaaahaaahaaa.

You know, a few years ago, I was at a family get-together...everyone pitched in in lottery tickets; I remember being asked if we wanted "in" but I didn't have any cash so we just said no. Well, wouldn't you know, they won one of the biggest jackpots ever in Texas...50million bucks. There were 49 winners in total..48 of those were family and friends who all went in to buy them. talk about a depressing moment.

I win on scratch-offs all the time when I remember to play but I only buy the $5, $10, $30, and $50 ones..no $1 ones.

I could spend 5 mil in a heartbeat, I'm talking a house in the mountains, one in the city, one in the burbs, and one in hawaii. A BMW would be nice and maybe a few other things...

huh. i just read an article today on how miserable people ended up after winning the lottery.

i'm willing to take the chance.

but first i'd have to figure out how to buy a ticket.

I don't play, but still dream about what I would do with a big windfall and I agree, I'd pay off lots of people mortgages. I spend so much money each week on shelter it would be great to have that gone.

I would get my own apartment instead of renting a room in a house with other people I don't really know well and I don't like much. (I don't really dislike them either, but I tend to just ignore them and share space as needed.) I would also worry less about having to work a "full-time" schedule at school, which sometimes means teaching stuff I'm not interested in, and I could just teach what I love and be part-time.

Also, like you, I would want to help my mom and sister out with their finances. That would make me so happy, seeing them free from those worries! :)

I already have my house in Hawaii picked out. Problem is, it costs $6.4 million! Oh well, I had better start playing the lottery.

Do you think $5M is enough? I was thinking $500M would be better. Hey, if you're gonna dream, why not?!
I shoulud buy a ticket too.
