why i love coach

i love coach purses. i do. in a world full of fancy schmancy purses, coach is the only brand that appeals to me. i think most of the super expensive purses are ugly. hell, i think half of coach purses are ugly too.

anyway, i convinced myself that it was perfectly okay to buy a 200 dollar purse since it was guaranteed for life. FOR LIFE!!! if anything happens to it, you send it back and they fix it! purses for life- you'll never need another purse again.. genuis! perfect! i can spend ridiculous amounts of money on a purse because i'll never have to buy another one again!!!

i'm a sucker. or stupid.

because i honestly thought that having 1 in black and 1 in brown would suffice me for the rest of my existance. i mean really. am i that idiotic? apparently. i live near a coach outlet which is the first problem. the second problem is that i actually go there. often. but that's one of my rules- i refuse to buy a coach purse at a retail store. outlet only and even then.. sparingly. *coughs*

okay so boyfriend has told me that he would never ever ever ever ever buy me a coach purse. did i mention ever? he caved a christmas (or two ago) and said he would buy me one that would fit my camera in it. i was so excited! we went to the outlet together and i got a new black purse that fit everything! i was so happy (insert squeels of joy here).

and then my purse broke. (insert tears here)

and i thought that it was guaranteed for life, so YAY! no problem.. they'll fix it! hooray for coach!

but they couldn't fix it.

but they sent me a letter for the value of my purse, which was almost $300 dollars (which was nowhere near what we paid for it). so i could either take that letter and shop at any coach store, shop online, or i could let them know that i wanted my broken, unfixable purse back.

we went shopping yesterday!!! i got TWO new coach purses for the value of my one (well i did pay a little more to get them both). i got a new black one and another brown one. yeah, i know- i thought i wouldn't need another purse ever again.

anyway, i think it worked out well. almost too well for me.

don't tell coach k? cause i can totally imagine them being like "jennster, you have to take your purses back and just get one much cheaper purse because do you think we're stupid? you can't get 2 purses for the price of your 1 purse.. we'll go out of business." or they'll just come to my house and steal all my coach purses.

ha, i said "all" cause i have lots now. it's a sickness.

I had No idea they had just an awesome warranty. Wooohooo. I have a couple Coach bags, but my big weakness...Kate Spade.

We have a couple coach outlets near us too. I'm seriously going to tell people about your awesome customer experience.

amo- for reals.. i love me some coach!!!!!

cl- OUTLETS all the way. the retail stores are WAY too expensive in my opinion. 100 vs 300 is totally better. ha. i'm delusional.

but YES.. guaranteed dammit! if anything breaks, they fix it. you only get that letter if they CAN'T fix your purse.. but i was psyched! i mean, sad cause boyfriend bought me that purse, but TWO NEW PURSES!

I love Coach, too. Carrying a big black leather tote instead of an ugly diaper bag has saved my sanity all these years. Now, because of Coach, I cannot carry an inexpensive handbag because I hate the fell of the cheap quality of how it is structured (does that make sense?)

I will be going to Vegas in Sept/early October and am hoping to sneak to the outlet there.

I have 5 Coach purses, so don't feel bad. Wait until you "need" a hot pink Coach, mint green Coach and matching wallets. Cole Haan and Kate Spade bags are my other weak spots, but the Coach customer service has always been excellent.

I have to say that the brown one is cute. :)

I'm not much for name-brand purses - I usually go for the eclectic and unique ones (I have a purse that has green whales all over it - eclectic? hell yes!) but that brown one... still cute.

My husband knows me so well, he notices how I involuntarily pause while walking by a window with cute purses in it. I also love shoes. I tell him a girl can never have enough shoes and purses. He's watched the entire Sex and the City show with me, so he knows. However, my shoes don't cost me $400.00 a pop. ;)

I too am addicted to Coach purses. The closest outlet to us is about 100 miles away, but we manage to get over there a couple times a year for shopping. I just recently bought a purse and matching wallet there, but my husband actually bought me my first one at the retail store in our mall... $400... he seriously about had a heart attack!

It's your fault that I am now a Coach whore. I still only have the one from SF Macy's, but every time I'm near the outlet (which is an hour and a half away) I stop in and browse... and hunt ... for the perfect next investment.

I blame YOU. ;) But I love you for it.

ha. I'm about to head to the beach this weekend for labor day- and it's just a coincidence that there is a coach outlet there (the condo where we are staying is literally 2 minutes from the outlet mall- strategic planning on my part) and I've already made plans to buy another one- especially since my anniversary is coming up- i'm hoping to parlay that into a purse for a gift. LOL

My wife has the same "sickness" as you. She must have at least 10 Coach purses.

But I willingly buy them for her because she loves them so much. I'm cool like that.

I love those colors too! I can't spend more than 50 bucks on a purse because I get bored with it and want a new one. Or I break it and want a new one, which happens just as often.

If I didn't know better I think you've got yourself a system there. Buy at the outlet for 1/2 price, purse "breaks", get double what you paid, get two purses for the price of one!

It's ethical right? It's their policy, not yours!

I had no idea about the Coach return policy...thanks! and I LOVE your new purses.

Wait wait wait. Back the fuck up. I just sent a $500 purse in to be repaired, they couldn't repair it, so they sent me a 40% off coupon that I could only use at the Coach store. No outlet. I used the coupon and had to spend another $240 to get the purse I wanted. I got screwed!

But I am a Coach girl for life. Coach Outlet girl for life, I should say.

Once I got all insane and delusional and bought a Coach bag on Ebay and had it shipped here from Australia.

But, I absolutely love it and it's multicolored and special, so it's all good right?

Coach used to be my bag of choice, then I had a repair issue on my beekman briefcase... Not only did they refuse to repair it, but it cost me $50.00 to send it to them...Bah! Now I'm addicted to Dooney Bourke. And a little known brand called Kesslord. The worst though, has to be the impulse buy that is Michael Kors....

corrin- i'm a little pissed off for you cause um.. that's not how it works. if they can't fix your bag then they have to replace it for you. did you send it in through the coach store?!?!?! i need more details.

i will fight for you! lol
