know what i'm sick of?

i'm really sick of other bloggers telling us it's okay to feel a certain way about something. or it's NOT okay to feel a certain way about something. or yes, this is allowed to upset you, but THIS however, is not. don't fucking tell me how to feel, or what to feel. i get that it's how you feel, but i do NOT have to agree with you.

it seems like when certain bloggers post their opinions on their blogs, they do so with such disdain for the other side, that you'd be a fucking asshole to disagree with them.... or heaven forbid, think differently.

note to world:
opinions are just that.
YOUR OWN THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ON A SUBJECT.

people do not have to agree with you. people are not idiots, or uneducated, or assholes because they don't see things the same way you do. people are not losers when they don't find the same things funny as you. people are not any less credible if something doesn't offend them, but it offended you. women are still GOOD women even if they don't see everything in the same way as other women. holy fuck did that make sense?

like that whole stupid motrin fucking commercial hoo hub. what if it didn't offend you? what if it didn't piss you off? what if you saw that commercial and simply, did.not.care? does that make you any less of a woman? who gives a fuck.

we are all different.

we are all opinionated and our opinions are extremely personal.

i know that this blog post right here could be construed as the same exact thing i'm posting about... my point is that there are bloggers out there who post in a manner that is so extreme, it's sometimes hard to read. even when i agree with their point of view, the way they write about it sometimes makes me cringe- i can only imagine how the people who disagree with what is being written must feel. we all post our opinions and our thoughts. i mean, that's what our blogs are for. i'd like to think that when i post things, i'm open to hearing people disagree with me in the comments section. i don't post things assuming that everyone will be on board the ster train of thought. you know?

i guess i just got offended reading some posts lately and feeling like those people were telling me how to feel. and telling me i was wrong if i didn't agree with how they were telling me to feel. i'm not a 12 year old kid who needs to have her mind and thoughts shaped and persuaded. i get that you feel a certain way and you're most certainly entitled to that. but i do not have to agree. and it does not make me any less of a kick ass, wonderful chick to think differently than you do.

you know you want to do nothing but agree with me in this here comments section. HAHHAHAHAHAA

Well I think you're an idiot for being the first to comment on your own damn post. :)

I do actually agree with you. If you write something expecting everyone to agree with you and are not open to differing opinions, then why are you posting it in a public forum to begin with?

One of the things that bothers me the most in blogging sometimes is the fact that people get mad about criticism or that not everyone is blowing sunshine up their ass all the damn time. Guess what? The internet is a BIG place and if you're going to post something, odds are, there is going to be someone who thinks or feels differently. It's called the World Wide Web for a reason.

it would be so much more interesting if you would share those posts you're referring too:)

oh, that was me. sorry, forgot to fill in the blanks.

Keep posting your thoughts and opinions. I love to hear what you have to say. What else "do" you have to say?

You definitely need to put those sites on BLAST! Unless, of course it was from mine :-)

I only disagree with one thing, people ARE idiots if they don't laugh at what WE think is funny (I say WE, bc we seem to share the same sense of warped humor). :-)

Now, tell us those sites...

I get what you're saying, and that's why sometimes I come up with a brilliant post with an actual opinion, as opposed to the picture of the unicorn with rainbows coming out of its ass...and then I chicken out because I don't really like discord in the comments section. Wimp, I know.

Your first commenter does seem like a real bitch, though :).

I completely disagree with this post and would like for you to remove it. It's inappropriate.

How dare you!

Wow, what a post! I agree with you completely though, there are some incredibly over opinionated bloggers out there, but I'm not one of them. BTW: I came over from Antics of a crazy mom's page. Hi!

krista- first of all, i miss you. and i am sad at the thought of not being at blogher this year. and yeah, i'm an idiot but we all know that. LOL

lori- i'm ballsy, but i'm not that ballsy.

nora- you want me to take all the heat while you sit back silently, agree and watch me get slaughtered! I FIGURED YOU OUT WOMAN! lol

karen- that first commenter should SUCK IT! it's hard sometimes to post things that you think are going to start chaos. it's even more fun when you post something that you didn't think was at all controversal and then it turns into one hell of a bru-haha. why do people call things bru-haha's? anyway.. it's hard to post tough things. but you should do it though. you might be surprised at how many others are feeling or thinking the same way, they just aren't comfortable saying it out loud. THE PRESSURE!

dan- i live dangerously. join me?

bobbie- HI! and THANKS for coming over!! i'm really trying to branch out and read new blogs, and so it's exciting to see new faces around here!

Can't you just email us privately and say what bloggers you're talking about? Pretty please? I'm dying to know. Unless it's me.

Ericka said...

well, you know what they say - opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. also there's probably an addendum to that regarding some people's opinions make them assholes. if there isn't, there should be.

I have seen a lot of posts like you are describing lately and also ones that say "this is my experience; hence it must be everone's experience and if you experienced it differently you are not "real" or cool or whatever. Annoying. And even when you comment on those with a different perspective, no one listens. Everyone's too busy saying "you go girl!"

Jenna said...

I'm totally out of the loop. Is this motrin commercial on youtube? I'm going to find out. Also, I'm completely out of the loop because I don't know which bloggers they are that boast these opinions...I guess I don't read them. I do, however, always LOVE what you have to say. Saying it like is = what I love about your blog.

Why, when I read this, did I think I knew EXACTLY who you've been reading lately?

Karen Sugarpants said...

ahhh fuck i hope it's not me. i've been blogging about parenting a bit lately and it could be taken that way - but people can totally carrying on not parenting like me and have fun fucking up their kids. that's JUST FINE. ;P

Kelly said...

Jennster. I'll wear sugarpants for you.

Andie said...

Jennn- i have no idea what or who you are talking about but if everyone in the world agreed about everything, it would be very boring!

I have but two words.

Ay-men

(now I gotta watch myself though because well I can rant like a madwoman and perhaps come off like one of the twatty bloggers you described)

SUEB0B said...

You are so fucking wrong about this.

LOL.

So I read it as "our opinions are extremely premenstrual." And I thought, "Well, it certainly helps."

And please please please tell what you are reading!!!

What I find amazing is how quickly a dissenting opinion can devolve into name calling and other ridiculous, disrespectful bullshit.

Since when can't two otherwise-normal human beings differ in their beliefs and still remain respectful and, like, NORMAL?

I felt the same way about the Motrin ordeal. And about so many other "issues" that weren't issues but became them because people can't leave them alone.

I know people like to argue, but many people aren't even open to argument because they want everyone to be their clone. Grrrr. Sometimes blogland is so petty.
