what one place do you want to visit?

is there one place in the world that you're drawn too, and you're not sure why? or maybe you're drawn there and you do know why... i'm curious where is the one place you'd like to visit before you die? do you have that feeling, or am i the only freak? nah, there are way more freaky people out there. i'm sure you're drawn to a place you've never been too, right?

for me, i've always been inexplicably drawn to the south. i have my beliefs as to why i think that is, and for now i'll be selfish and keep them to myself. besides, they involve things like past lives, and the civil war, etc. things you don't want to hear me babble on about- but really, the south isn't the reason for this post. cause the south is easy to visit and get too.

the reason for this post... the one place in the world that i must go to before i die... have to see because i have art depicting it all over my house... is italy. i'm dying to go to italy. dying to take it all in. i guess mostly northern italy (although i'm sure southern italy is just as spectacular). i must see venice before it freaking sinks. and lake como. i am just so drawn to italy and everything about it, that even if i never realize the reason for it, i still have to go there. i want to get lost there (not literally). i can't explain why. i have no reason why. i'm not italian, don't have family there, no rational exlanation as to why i'm drawn there. yet still. it's the one place i have to go to.

what about you? what's your italy?

Anywhere in Europe really, since I've never been. But probably England is my Italy. That's the place I want to visit first in my "across the pond" travels.

My Italy is totally Italy. I want to see Venice, Rome and Tuscany. Man I want to be in Tuscany so bad. I truly would love to see all of Italy. I want to travel around it for at least a month.

Spain. Ibiza.

And Greece.

And just like you, no real reason why. But I want to do it before I turn 30, which I am getting really close to now.

Italy was my Italy and even though I've been there it remains on my list. I simply didn't see enough of it and I can't wait to return.

Otherwise, I'd love to visit Nepal...and Ireland...and...well...the list goes on I suppose.

I just want to explore New England. I've never been and there is so much more history there than we have out here in California.

I want to go everywhere! It is hard to pick, I'm drawn to China because my nieces were born there. I'm drawn to Ireland because my grandparents loved it so much and collected beautiful things from there. I'm drawn to Scotland because it is in my blood (literally).

But I've always wanted to go to Jamaica and ride horses on the beach. Always. And listen to regaee music and do nothing. And I've done that on beaches in Hawaii and Mexico and The Bahamas and Caribbean, but I really want to go to Jamaica, mon.

I am always up to go anywhere, but Bora Bora. Tropical islands are a favorite of mine.

Austin, Texas. There's just something about a city who chooses to have a slogan like "Keep Austin Weird"

Venice is amazing. When I was there I kept thinking, I feel like I'm in a picture.

The place I'd like to go is China. I think there are some amazing sites there.

I'm drawn to the American Southwest, west Texas Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada. Those wide open, nothing for miles, you can see the WHOLE sky, day and night places. They speak to a very primitive part of my soul. I am never so much at peace as when I can see for miles and miles

Marrakech. I want to experience the sights, smells and tastes of Morocco. I want to walk thru the markets and see the palaces. Check out the cemetaries. I just imagine the colors, the people, the history.

Yep, that's my Italy.

France, specifically Paris. I went this year, and it was the most amazing trip I ever took.

On the morning we left- it was about 5 AM their time, and we were waiting for the taxi to pick us up and take us to the airport- I could smell the pastries and bread baking, and I could hear the city start to stir, and I started to cry because I was leaving and I didn't want to leave. I am already trying to figure out how I can go back and spend a month in all of france.

Even though I've been to Russia, it still remains at the top of my list. Right along with Ireland, Australia (thanks to a certain poet), and India. Man, if they didn't have all those cows and rules about killing them, I'd so have already been there.
