i am SO proud!

so freaking proud to be an american today!

i am SO excited and it seriously makes my heart smile that i live in a nation that would elect a black man to lead and run our country. not only did we elect this man- we OVERWHELMINGLY elected this man! that is exciting! and SO amazing! and so heartwarming!!! and it seriously makes me proud. proud of what this nation has become. proud that we can accept someone and believe in them to be our leader, regardless of their color.

we've come a long way america. a long way. we still have far to go, but this is a beautiful step. a beautiful, amazing, wonderful step.

You're right. We DO have a long ways to go. I write a long post this morning trying to describe what I was feeling today, but you summed it up!

I am thrilled today and bummed for reasons that I posted about. Coolest thing is that my kids watched history in the making last night on TV. They know it's importnant, because we've told them so. But one day, they'll really realize how important it was.

I cried watching him last night. Even telling his kids they'd be taking a doggie with them to the white house, just perfect.

Nice pic ster!

We have come a long way. A little work and we can keep it going that way.

First, I'm glad that we no longer have to take your word that your head didn't explode, though that scarf still leaves some slight room for doubt.

I'm thrilled at Obama's election. He's the right man at the right time. It's manifestation that we've made steps towards Dr. King's dream by judging a man not based on the color of his skin, but on the content of his character.

I am both elated and jubilant whilst being steadied by the fact that the road ahead is long and a lot of it is uphill. But last night was a great start...no, it was a BRILLIANT start!

I too, am very proud to be an American. This is a turning point in history, and all I can say is it's about time! I ordered my Yes We Did t-shirt earlier this afternoon and will wear it with pride when it arrives.
