the titanic notebook

so at some point during my 4 days alone, both the titanic and the notebook were on tv. being the total and complete sucker that i am, i watched parts of both of them. before i knew it, i was actually sitting through the commercials to watch them (you know, instead of grabbing the dvd's and watching). no one said i was smart.

i'm a total sucker for these movies. now i know that there are people who hated titanic. they thought it was a titanic piece of crap. but i fucking loved that movie. i was pregnant with blake when it was in the theaters and holy shit if i didn't PAY to go see it 10 times. i am so.not.kidding. TEN times! james cameron should have sent me an award. or jack dawson. or something.

and the notebook? i don't know anyone who didn't like that movie. at least not anyone with a heart. i'm pathetic, i know. but i think that what i love about these movies is the type of love story (dur jenn). like- the kind of love where it's the guy who is head over heels for the girl. the guy who would do (and does) anything for her. the type of guy who never gets over his one true love. he always keeps his promise... he follows through on his word... he fights for her... breaks the rules to be with her... shows her how much he cares with actions and not just pretty words...

i'm sappy, it's true. but tell me that this video of rachel mcadams and ryan gosling winning for best kiss at the mtv awards isn't the BEST THING IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD!!!!! i never get sick of seeing this. it's fucking hot. i want the two of them to get married and make babies and stuff.

wow. HOT. and I'm in total agreement with Ali. I'd be his pleasure ANY day. The two of them were such a cute couple, I wish they hadn't split last year...

and I have to agree about both movies - I love them BOTH! and of course MY preggo hormones currently have me crying over EVERYTHING sappy... my friend told me the other day to not watch "PS I love you" without my hubs right now :)

thanks for sharing the vid... it really made my afternoon :)

So I guess you're really glad they're back together?

I haven't seen The Notebook. Is it a cry fest? Cause the Prospective Boyfriend has it in his collection and I would like to see it, I just don't want to cry.

OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE NOTEBOOK!!! I will stop everything and watch that and Forrest Gump, no matter what part they are on. And yes, I have the DVDs but will also sit through commercials instead of putting them in. Dorky yes, but commercials give me a chance to make a bathroom/drink run.

Ok, ster everyone has movies that they'll sit and watch commercials for, even when they have thme on DVD. I do, for sure. And I'll even admit to loving Titanic. But the notebook?

The notebook? Really? Please shoot me now.

Yes, totally, emphatically agree: they need to make lots and lots of pretty babies!

No, wait. Nevermind. I'll volunteer if she doesn't want to.

I am so overly invested in "The Notebook" that it's pathetic... I resisted for a long while... claiming it looked "too lame" and then, one rainy Saturday, I flicked over to some cable station and I was hooked... the sexy in that movie.. well, damn!

and my husband? Loves it.

Wow. I had no idea about the softer side of Jennster. This is both comforting and confusing to me, but mostly just comforting. I loved Titanic. I will join you in the shame spiral of cheesy love stories.

Also, is Heinous a robot? How could he have not seen either movie. You couldn't swing a dead cat around without hitting a theater showing Titanic. What was he doing with his life? Heinous! I'm calling you out!

Woulda been better if he wasn't chewing gum....eeeh.

Heinous said...

Oh, the gloves are off now Jen. I'm coming straight over to your blog. We don't want to mess up Jennster's new, softer side.

I think I've asked you this before...did you read The Wedding? Because in the book/movie, they do get married and have lots of babies! :) Nicholas Sparks knows how to write a good tearjerker. Try True Believer. Mmmmmm.

i'm a total sap for BOTH movies too. i'm so glad they're back together. they better get married and STAY married and have tons of babies.

where is my credit for SHOWING YOU THAT VIDEO LAST WEEK. jesus. it's like i don't exist.

I actually don't like either of those movies. I was completely unimpressed with The Notebook.

Sorry.

The Titanic? While pregnant? Me too!!! Let's not speak of the dreams I had after that movie where Leo totally did not mind my largess.
The Notebook? The very thought of it makes me cry. If they ever do Suzannes Diary For Nicholas, well, I'll just have to have myself committed.
PS...swing by tonight to see the hotty (not) I photographed in Cabo. And then don't get pisssed at me if you go blind.

Exactly. That kind of love story makes me all weak too. Even a moment, like in Chocolat, when Johnny Depp leaps into the lake to save the beautiful magical French woman. Sigh. Or Pride and Prejudice... Okay, okay, I can tell this is not your usual stuff from the comments, so I should probably stop now before I embarrass myself.

All I have to say is that if you think you were crying at the Movie of The Notebook, you have to read the book. OMG. get a box of tissues!!!

I can't wait to see The wedding.

I have never seen that clip. I had to watch it 5 times...

The book? Amazing. Watching those two bring it to life? Was actually even better. Surprise! But that kiss was HAWT HAWT HAWT.

I love that scene of the notebook. that is the most perfect love scene EVER.

did you know that they got back together?

I hated the Notebook...or at least the "young Noah and Allie" part of it. I wrote a blog post about it, probably 2 years ago now.

And I hated Titanic, it wasn't a "love story" it was a "lust story". (tell me how many times Leo tells whatshername he loves her.)

I don't know what I would consider to be a good love story...but Brokeback Mountain comes to mind.

And I actually was interested in the parts of the Notebook that had old Noah and old Allie.

That video makes me want to do very naughty things with Ryan Gosling.
