bloggy cliques & i'm a bitch

know what's interesting? all the bloggers who long to be a part of a clique.. whether it's the old clique, or the new ones, or the even newer ones.

know what's more interesting? do you ever stop to think WHY you want to be part of the clique? i mean, do you even truly like these people, or do you just want to be perceived as "popular?"

because i'll tell you straight up that there are some cliques that:
A- their blogs suck. i can't even read them because they bore me to tears and i have no idea how they have the amount of daily readership that they do.
and B- these people have NOTHING in common with me and i would never be friends with them in real life. i mean, not meaningful friends.

yet there are these people who would give their typing hand to be a part of what those people are. and i just don't get it.

i'm not saying i'm better than anyone, or that my blog doesn't suck or that i don't bore people to tears, i'm just saying...... stop longing to be a part of a group who isn't longing to be a part of yours.

I think it's just human nature. Everyone wants to be popular. I don't have a clue who you're talking about but maybe they're making up for not being popular back in high school. You, my dear, never had to worry about that because you were known and liked by everybody. :)

There are blog cliques?! LOL

I think that sums up my popularity.

I feel a bit rejected at times in the blog world, especially when many of the bloggers I read got sent to Uganda to blog about it. Or travel to meet each other. Then I realize I never was the popular type and I don't even have much writting talent. I just love reading blogs like yours and getting a glimpse of other blogger's lives, connecting to people is important in any avenue.

How is your son adjusting to the new house?

Agreed. It's stupid. And I'm about to kick a troll's ass, too. Blog people can be weird.

On that note, I'm with Chase. I wanna be in your cool group.

Oh, shit. There are cliques?

LOL- i love you fuckers. all of you. you rock. we are in our own clique of those who rock.

sc.. lol

theresa- i totally understand that. it is weird when people get chosen to go on these elaborate trips to speak about the fact that they blog. i'd like to think that they think it's fucking weird too. but so many bloggers want to be writers.. like published with books writers and i don't fit into that category AT ALL. i just like reading about normal shit- it's hard to read things i can't relate to or have no interest in, which is actually an upcoming post to be posted soon. lol
blake loves the house- he thinks it's becoming really pretty and nice thank you so much for asking.

meg- you have your own damn chair at my table, dur.

harpy- just one more thing for you to worry about online. lol

Like Alison said, it must be some latent need to fit in from high school.

Weird, yes. Absoultely.

You, not weird. I always love reading about your life!

interesting.....

I never really thought about it all that much. I honestly just blog for my sanity, not for other people, although sometimes, I do blog for other people who will send me messages for whatever reason...
but I mostly just blog random stuff that pops into my head!

But I definitely don't have time to find a "clique" per se.

I totally thought you were going to have a sign up sheet at the end of this post.

I can relate to this though, because I want to be liked by everybody :) I don't care about being in a "clique" though, I just don't want to be snubbed. I will, however, sit at your lunch table any time :)

Hey, I just came looking for this and we definitely think alike. I don't want to be part of a clique so much as I just wanted dooce to return my fucking email since I tried to HELP her. And then when you feel like the reason they can't bother to respond is you just aren't a big enough blogger to take up their time it's irritating.
