why do i crave salt?!

WHY?!?! after i work out, i crave salt something fierce! all i want are SUPER SALTY, with extra salt- ruffles potato chips. and i must have them so help me god.

but why?!?!?

why is it that after i bust my ass i seem to insist on enlarging it?

is there a logical explanation for feening for salt after a good workout? if so, please tell me what the hell it is.

Your sweat contains salt from your body, especially when you exercise during the hotter months, so this is probably your body's way of trying to get back some of that lost salt....your craving for Ruffles. YUM!!

Jenn, be careful it is the potato chip monster who jumps out of your bag after you workout and runs around trying to get you to catch him. This makes you get more exercise so you eat more potato chips and this madness goes on and on.......

Seriously your are dehydrated and need to replenish salt and sugar. Try water and air popped popcorn with a little salt. We snack on that when we are cutting hay and drink a sports drink or water. Helps in the 90 degree heat!

Try drinking that Smart Water while you work out. It has electrolytes without the calories like Gatorade has. You are probably getting dehydrated and salt helps you retain fluids.

Just put down those chips!!!

Your body needs salt to function and when you sweat you lose sodium in your sweat! It's totally natural to crave salt...try gatorade or something else that has salt but is also nutritious to replace your sodium! After working out really hard, ie: LOTS of sweat, I only drank water but didn't eat anything... I have never felt sicker!!
