DIY MADNESS!

diy = do.it.yourself.

this is an acronym that i learned from the knot. i've got lots of diy projects going on for the wedding. and yes, i'm STILL having fun with them all! my brain though, it hurts a little.

we're having cd favors that are also doubling as table assignments. so tonight i bought things to emboss (you stamp.. put powder on the stamp.. then heat the powder.. it puffs up and is SO cool) the cd case with. i was on stamp/powder duty and boyfriend was the dryer. it was so cute! i tried to take a picture of him being all domestic and diy'ey with me, but he wouldn't let me! so you'll have to settle with a picture of just what the hell i'm talking about. that's it! SO CUTE, HUH? just say yes!

We did that too...The table assignments were picture frames that the guests took with them..grapevine themed since we got married in a vineyard. We also have a site on theknot as a memory...I loved that site when I was getting married.

Have fun!

Those are SO cool! Why couldn't I have been DIY-ey like you? It makes a wedding so nice and personal and with all that you are putting into it will make it mean that much more to you.

Long time reader - first time poster (I think - can't remember!). Congrats on your upcoming wedding.

OOooo! Very cute!
My husband and I got married Oct. '05 and I had a blast doing most of the planning myself. We did round candy tins as favors with a round sticker on top with our names, the date and a cute picture...
What are your colors?

That's so cool. I love that saying and it looks great! CDs are a great idea, too.

I was such a knot addict when planning :) I got some great ideas from there. And my DH was GREAT about helping with the DIY stuff, but alas, I never actually got a picture of him DIY'ing either :(

I don't blame him. You got him to do it - don't sell him out to the rest of the world with pictures!!

That's so awesome! I wish I would have done something like that for our wedding. Actually I didn't have time and I would have freaked out, so I'm glad I didn't. BUT it looks like your wedding is going to be THE event of the year!

These are such cool sites.

So this wedding....are you getting nervous yet? You've sure put a lot of planning and effort into it. I had to fight with my parents about everything!

And I'm not even just saying that because you told me to. I love that... it really is very YOU.

OMG. that kicks ass. how cool.

does it puff up like those "puff paints" you used to decorate tshirts with? i guess i'm having a hard time seeing what the finished product looks like. because i'm dumb, i guess.

i think this is cool because you are making:
*memories
*a personalized wedding
* a favor people will actually friggin use
* a fun crafty thing

this is why you rock. you are a multi-tasker.

now, what can i emboss.....

note to self: buy embossing stuff and emboss the hell out of your belongings. it's way cuter than a label maker.
