i hate nopoblosmadsfjsljf

i'm sorry y'all, but this freaking november post everyday crap is killing me. first of all, way too many of you are playing along. secondly, you're just posting to post. and that alone is annoying.

i like to read what you blog about when you genuinely have something to say. not when you're posting because you're "supposed" to be. if you're participating in this madness, can you tell me why? because when i heard about it, absolutely nothing about it appealed to me. i'm wondering what appealed to you.

this is one time i'm encourage y'all to be quitters. k? my sanity.. my bloglines.. my eyes thank you.

i didn't do it. i couldn't.
it's too much pressure...and i feel like my posts would end up being shitty....or shittier than they already are...just to get a post in...

i've not even heard about that so obviously 1. i'm outta the loop and 2. i'm not posting just to post lol

Anonymous said...

I heard about it, but I don't believe people should post just to post, either.

Hmmm...well I did it for a challenge but I'm possibly going to raise the white flag anyday now. But if you don't want to read mine, you don't have too.

I didn't even sign up. But my Bloglines is chock full of crap that I'm wading through. Ugh.

I signed up to give myself some motivation to think of new things to write about. I'm sorry if I've bored anyone. I do have some good thoughts and entries in there....at least I hope!!!

My Bloglines is pretty scary right now, too. E-freaking-gads!

dana- i don't mean you!!! and i don't mean a lot of people.. it's just overwhelming to see so many posts on my bloglines. lol

I agree! I can barely keep up with my favorites when they are randomly posting but now that people are posting every day, it is KILLING me!

I don't get it either. I mean, seriously, shouldn't we be pushing for quality over quantity in the blogosphere. There's already enough crap-o-la out there. I can't imagine having bloglines and trying to wade through all of it.

Your title made me giggle, Jenn.

I'm a non-joiner.....and I don't just mean NoBlowMeYaMoFo but just in general.

But...my bloglines doesn't seem to be out of control. Maybe alot of the people I read aren't doing it.

Elizabeth said...

The reason I'm participating is that I was already doing a lot of thinking about how I had only been blogging for comments and didn't feel like I was putting enough thought into my posts. And I was feeling like there were things happening in my life that I wasn't writing down to remember later, because I didn't want to bore my readers. So when I read about NaBloPoMo, I knew it would be an opportunity for me to write just for myself, and maybe to stretch a little as a writer. I appreciate the fact that you've been reading and leaving me comments!

I haven't changed my posting style at all. I've always posted daily, and I continue to do so. But I have to admit that when looking through the randomizer at some of the participant blogs, I have to wonder just what the heck the point of their participation is. I mean, links and a photo isn't really a post, is it?

So far, I've tried to have SOME content. And that's without Maggie's book. But who knows what the future may bring?

I seriously considered it, but then came to my senses. I want to write more often, but wasn't sure every day was my style. I would like to try the blog trade thing though. That sounds like fun.
I know you must have a lot to read, so I really 'preciate your checking in and commenting at times...must be overwhelming at times. Like today!

I'm supposed to be posting EVERY day in November? NO WAY! (forget it). I dont even have enough interesting stuff to talk about to my boyfriend on a daily basis!

I signed up but I suck already. I was hoping it would get me back to writing more but then I got the flu! DAMN!

LMAO@ Dustin's comment.

i didn't do it, never heard about it, never have the time to post everyday, and usually have nothing to say anyhow.

Finelly said...

Huh? I not know what the hell you are talking about here.

PS-Sorry I didn't post about that saying goodbye thing. I was waiting for the mood to strike me, but it didn't. So sorry, if you even know what the hell I'm talking about.

jennster said...

finelly.. i have been holding my breath for that post, bitch. LOL

Dana said...

That is true! I do have a hard time reading my bloglines these days! :)

posting everyday was an excuse to set my site back up after it was hacked 4 times. I usually post everyday excluding weekends anyway.

i hate it when people post just to post. i TRY to have some substance to my posts.

I'm doing nanowrimo... which is similar to the nablopomo thingy except that I actually feel like now I have permission to NOT post. LOVE. IT. Blogging kinda scares me sometimes.

Yorksdevil said...

I'm not doing that but I post most days anyway (as do you, Jenn). I think I've posted 491 times since Feb.

Thankfully I only subscribe to one blog which has signed up so I don't have the bloglines related hostility.

There are bloggers who I wish posted more often and could do with a push but then maybe their infrequency helps them maintain a high quality.

Hmmm...I didn't know this was going on. Possibly due to the fact that I hardly ever get online anymore. But I agree with you. Stupid.

I'll be trying to catch up on some of your previous posts within the next few days. I've gotta have my Ster fix!

I definitely didn't particpate - I can't even come up with more than 2 posts a week !

mothergoosemouse said...

I did it because I'm a masochist. And full of hot air.

And I'm boycotting Bloglines right now myself. I can't stand logging into it and seeing that I've got 600 fucking posts to read. Not gonna happen.

K said...

Read mom-101's take on it. Hilarious.

And yeah. My bloglines oy.

And isn't supposed to be "help your writing and challenge yourself" as opposed to - just fucking post anything I can so I can say I did it everyday?

Just curious... :)

So are you saying I shouldn't post a picture of the horizon with the caption "The sky is blue" tonight?

Seriously, I am doing it to challenge myself. I love competing with myself because I win every time! Hee hee. (I know you don't know me that well so I hope you read my comment with sass.)

dude, i totally agree. I think it's great to honor a personal commitment to write more and use the blog as an outlet, but posting with nothing to say is asking a lot of anyone who reads..

Besides, the beauty of having your blog is that it is YOUR blog and there are no deadlines. Finally, the one thing in life that you have total control over to post or NOT post whenever you want.

I'm doing it. And I answered your questions on my blog. :-)

I always post every day.

Jo said...

I signed up..and I quit after 2 days. Meh. Such is life. I'm gonna show my ignorance again here. What are bloglines?

MrsFortune said...

I'm doing it because I need to write more. I need to blog more. And honestly, if I really cannot think of ANYTHING to write I'll put up pictures of the monkey man, how's that?

And I certainly don't expect everyone to read every day! I'm doing it because it is gratifying. Because I don't have a job and I need SOME sort of purpose in my life!
